A native New Yorker, Dr. Ronald Friedman is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he also completed his Residency in Ophthalmology.

Dr. Friedman has been in practice in Monterey for 20 years. He has been performing refractive surgery since 1991, and LASIK since its approval by the FDA in 1995. He was instrumental in bringing Excimer laser technology to the Monterey Peninsula and has performed well over 2,000 procedures.

Dr. Friedman is a member of:

• The American Board of Ophthalmology
• American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS)
• Monterey Medical Society

He is on staff at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and the Monterey Doctors Surgery Center. Dr. Friedman lives with his wife and two children in Monterey. When not working, he enjoys multiple sports activities (running, biking, swimming, skiing), flying a Beech Bonanza, and playing classical guitar.
