Dr. Ronald A Friedman is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in Laser Vision Correction, Custom Wavefront LASIK, PRK, Epi-K, CK, Phakic ICL’s, Cataract surgery and Cataract surgery with Advanced Premium Lifestyle Lenses. He also treats glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and other medical eye conditions and diseases.
Dr. Friedman established Friedman Eye Center in 1983 and has performed more than 10,000 refractive and small-incision Cataract surgeries to date. His greatest pleasure is listening to his patients describe the excitement of waking up the next morning after their surgery and being able to see clearly without glasses or contact lenses for the first time in years.
Dr. Friedman was instrumental in bringing Laser Vision Correction to the Monterey Peninsula and currently is the only ophthalmologist on the peninsula to own and operate his own Visx Star4 Laser. Dr. Friedman meets and works with each patient personally throughout the entire vision correction process. His personable approach allows you to ask the right questions allowing you to make the right decision about your eyes.
- A graduate of Brandeis University, Dr. Friedman received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1975; graduating Magna Cum Lauda
- He earned his medical education from Albert Einstein College of Medicine 1979, graduating in the 90th percentile of his class. He completed his internship at Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco in Medical-Surgical rotation, completing in June 1980
- Following medical school, Dr. Friedman completed a 3-year residency in the ophthalmology program at Einstein-Montefiore; completing in June 1984
